SDG Goals

The illustration for Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality shows a stick figure juggling three gender symbols—male, female, and a combined symbol with an equal sign—against a red background. On the right side, a white background displays the number "5" with the text "GENDER EQUALITY" and the combined gender symbol below, accompanied by the phrase "To achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls." The "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS" logo appears at the bottom.
This is a PDF document titled "GENDER EQUALITY: WHY IT MATTERS". The document explains that the goal of SDG 5 is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Empower women and girls and ensure their equal rights

1 in 3 women has experienced physical and/or sexual violence

Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore also half of its potential. But, today gender inequality persists everywhere and stagnates social progress.

Creating accessible environments—both physical and digital—is a key strategy to implement SDG 5.

The illustration for Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities shows a stick figure standing in an open door of a large tree with buildings growing from its base on an orange background. On the right side, a white background displays the number "11" with the text "SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES," accompanied by an orange buildings icon and the phrase "To make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable." The "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS" logo is at the bottom.
The image shows the number 11, with the words "SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES" written next to it. Below, there are line drawings of several buildings, a train, a sun, and some clouds. The color scheme is orange and white.

To make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

APNA is supporting the development of an accessibility vision for buildings, streets, and neighborhoods, and acting on it. Universal accessibility conditions promoted in the community, have a greater effect on quality of life.

The illustration for Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action shows a figure on a green background pulling down a large red balloon labeled "CO2," symbolizing efforts to reduce carbon emissions. The right side features the green number "13" with the text "CLIMATE ACTION," accompanied by a green eye with the Earth as its pupil, highlighting the urgent need to tackle climate change and its impacts. The "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS" logo is displayed at the bottom.
The image shows the number 13, with the words "CLIMATE CHANGE" written next to it.

Taking urgent action to mitigate climate change and its impacts

Disability inclusion and accessibility are vital for effective climate action as people with disabilities are disproportionately affected by climate change

APNA supports in raising awareness on climate action, shared lived experiences and unique insights of people with disabilities which can lead to innovative, equitable solutions that benefit everyone, from accessible public transport to resilient infrastructure.

The image is a blue and white graphic for Sustainable Development Goal 17, "Partnerships for the Goals." It features several illustrations, including two hands shaking, a bar graph, and a circular, flower-like logo made of five interlocking circles.

To revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development, strong international cooperation is needed now more than ever to ensure that countries have the means to achieve the SDGs

APNA is in this together.

The Agenda, with its 17 goals, is universal and calls for action by all countries. Strong international cooperation is needed now more than ever to ensure no one is left behind. We will need to mobilize both existing and additional resources— technology development, financial resources, women’s coalitions for change and capacity building with strategic partnerships.
